What is Viagra?

Viagra is the brand name of the drug Sildenafil, which is primarily used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The drug is also used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and to improve the exercise capacity of a person. Viagra is classified as a PDE5 inhibitor and works by widening the blood vessels to improve blood flow to certain parts of the body. This ability of the drug helps the person to overcome the ED problem and also improve sexual health. Viagra takes thirty to forty-five minutes for onset of effects and they last for about four to five hours.

Viagra is available for use as blue film-coated compressed tablets that are orally administered. The rounded-diamond shaped tablets come in dosage strengths of 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg. This prescription ED medication is to be taken only as directed by the physician without modifying the dosage on one’s own.

How to take Viagra?
